COVID-19 Update

Like so many of our customers Bill Smith Plumbing & Heating has been learning, meeting, and following news of the COVID-19 and its spread in our communities and beyond. Our focus has been on the impact to and safety of our customers, suppliers, and employees.

We have been closely monitoring guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, Colorado Department of Health and Environment, and all the various county health departments in locations that we service to determine how to do our part in support of community efforts to prevent the spread of this virus.

Our primary goal is to protect our customers, employees, and our families by ensuring that we don’t bring any contagion into a customer site or take anything with us. To that goal, in addition to our current safety policy of wearing shoe covers in customer’s homes and hand washing, our technicians will also be wearing disposable gloves, eye protection, and possibly masks while on site.  We have also instituted a rigorous tool sanitizing protocol to be used between job sites and regular truck cleaning.

DRAIN CLEANING UPDATE, Effective March 20th, 2020, Bill Smith Plumbing & Heating is temporarily halting drain cleaning (including sink, lavatory, shower, bathtub, laundry and main lines) because of COVID-19. Based on recommendations from governing bodies of the plumbing industry, we feel we cannot protect our workers or customers from possible contamination. All of our other services are still available, including Plumbing, Water Heaters, Boilers, Furnace, Gas piping, Tankless Water Heaters, Air Conditioning, Bathroom Remodels, drain smoke tests, Duct cleaning, back flow testing and install, will continue to go as normal, as long as we are allowed. We plan to bring back drain cleaning in the future as current events allow that to happen. We will be glad to give you a referral to drain cleaning companies if needed or suggest going to the BBB website and look for a top-rated drain cleaning company in the mean while. We are also suggesting that customer’s do not flush any kind of wipes down drains, even if they are deemed flushable or any other substitute for the lack of toilet paper; any substitute for toilet paper needs to discarded into the waste paper basket. We are also recommending that any debris on plates are scraped off into the trash, and a bare minimum of debris Is sent into the garbage disposal In the kitchen sink. The less stress your drains are under right now, will mean the longer you make it without a visit from the plumber / drain cleaner.

We would also respectfully ask that customers with any respiratory symptoms indicate that when calling for service and understand that we may defer service to a later time.

Thank you for extending your understanding and patience to our staff. If we have further policy changes as the situation evolves, we will inform our customers as soon as possible. As always, we appreciate your business.

Client Testimonials

“We just had one of your service reps replace our hot water heater. Just thought I’d let you know that Mike was courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient, and I really couldn’t be happier with his work. Also, I spoke with Dan after hours on Saturday, and on the strength of that conversation I decided to wait until Monday to go with you rather than use AAA or one of the other companies that were available over the weekend. To top it off, the bill was actually less than your estimate. Upshot is that it was a very pleasant experience, and we will be recommending Bill Smith Plumbing to our friends. Nice job, you guys!”
Happy Customer

“To all the Smith-Plumbing-Crew who helped us get our sewer-pipes flowing again. That was a nasty and difficult job to master! We cannot thank you enough for your hard work and professional demeanor. Each one of you showed calm and patience during this stressful time. It has been a pleasure working with you!”
Alden and Bridgette L.

“My name is SSG Michael Barnes and I am currently deployed with the United States Army in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. My family has been doing business with your company for some years and recently I had asked my mom to send me a 220v water heater element for a make shift shower that we had built in the building we live in. When she explained the situation to one of your employees, the gentleman brought out the element and when my mom asked what the charge was, the gentleman responded, “NO charge, ma’am, this one’s on us”…

“Once again, my deepest thanks and gratitude.”
